NEW CABINET IN KENYA

Finally the list of the new list of posts in the cabinet is out. This was released by the president Uhuru Kenyatta AND HIS deputy William Ruto Yesterday in a press release. The ministries have been cut down from 44 to 18. These 'lean and effective structure' as he referred to it is in accordance with the new constitution that requires the cabinet to have not more than 22 positions. It is still clear in our minds why we previously had the largest cabinet, yes the coalition government that had to cater for both sides.

The president has also included state departments whose heads will report to the cabinet secretaries. A system used in America but in our case will help serve the counties better. The newly structured cabinet will itself be referred to as The National Executive.
